⚖️ Expert Verdict

This is the 'heavyweight' battle of professional photo printing. The Epson P700 uses pigment inks which are more archival, while the Canon Pro-200 uses dye inks which are more vibrant but less permanent. Economically, the Canon Pro-200 is often cheaper to buy and its inks generally cost less per set. The Epson P700 also has a frustrating habit of using ink to switch between matte and photo black (though improved in this model). For a professional on a strict budget who needs high-speed, vibrant A3+ output, the Canon Pro-200 is the winner for lower operational stress and initial cost.

What Owners Are Saying?

Epson SureColour SC-P700

Robert
"Absolute unit of a machine. The Carbon Black mode gives me the deepest blacks I’ve ever seen on A3+ prints. It doesn't switch between matte and photo black anymore, which was a right faff on the older models. Proper professional bit of kit for anyone selling their work."

Canon PIXMA PRO-200

Alice K.
"Switched from a lab to this and haven't looked back. The color accuracy on glossy paper is stunning for an 8-ink dye system. It handles panoramic prints up to nearly a meter, which is a strategic win for my portfolio. Very sorted."
