⚖️ Expert Verdict
The step up from the DeskJet 2810e to the Envy 6020e is a significant leap in both design and utility. The Envy 6020e offers automatic double-sided printing and a hidden internal paper tray, both of which are major productivity upgrades over the budget DeskJet. While the 2810e is an affordable 3-in-1 for students, its exposed paper feed and lack of duplexing make it feel quite basic. The Envy also features a much more attractive, modern design with a smart light-bar that provides clear status updates without a screen. In terms of print quality, the Envy is superior for photos and has a much more robust Wi-Fi system that rarely drops its connection. The DeskJet is fine for occasional forms, but its high ink costs and slow speeds will quickly frustrate a more frequent user. HP’s Envy line is built to be a permanent household fixture, whereas the DeskJet feels more like a temporary solution. For a much better daily experience and significant paper savings, the HP Envy 6020e is our winner.
